What statistical test do I use to compare sample means to determine if there is a statictical difference?

I made series of crosses among a plant species and subjected them to two treatments over the course of a couple of growth cycles. the experimental design was a split block. I now have calculated means for each cross/treatment and want to see what effect the treatment had on each cross.
